Borderlands 2's next piece of downloadable content will bring a new Vault Hunter into the fray, and you can catch some brief glimpses of the character in a teaser trailer released by developer Gearbox Software today.

It's the same teaser that the studio showed during its SXSW Interactive panel last week.

This will be the sixth playable character in Borderlands 2 — the game includes four Vault Hunters, and Gearbox added Gaige, the Mechromancer, last October. From the teaser trailer, the new character appears to be built for melee attacks in brutal close-quarters combat. The lore behind the character is that it's an experiment that has escaped from deep beneath the surface of Pandora.

Gearbox added that the DLC will also include a level cap increase. For all the details on the new Vault Hunter and level cap increase, the studio suggests that Borderlands 2 fans attend its PAX East panel, which is set for 12:30 p.m. in the Main Theatre on Sunday, March 24.
