Game Boy Advance emulator hidden in iPhone baby-naming app, pulled from store
An iPhone app for a baby name generator was discovered to actually be an emulator for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance handheld system and has since been pulled from the iTunes Store.
Awesome Baby Names, previously available for $1.99, allowed users to add and play ROMS for old titles without jailbreaking their phones. Users simply had push a short series of buttons to access the emulator. Shortly after the discovery, Apple pulled the app.
Awesome Baby Names isn't the first app to sneak into Apple's store for a short time. In 2009, Apple yanked a Commodor 64 emulator, and again in 2011 with a standalone version of emulator MAME. A Game Boy Advance emulator called VBA8 is currently available for Windows Phone 8.
