Magic: The Gathering's Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 coming this Summer
Magic: The Gathering's Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 is set for a summer release, Wizards of the Coast announced.
The story focuses on Planeswalker Chandra Nalaar in her quest to track down a Planeswalker enemy.
It will feature 10 new decks, 15 new encounters, 10 new puzzle challenges and ad-hoc multiplayer at launch, with an online multiplayer functionality slated for post-release updates.
As well as continuing support for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows PC and iPad, Magic 2014 will be available for Android tablets for the first time via Amazon App Store and Google Play.
PAX East attendees are invited to play a demo of the new game at booth #562.
Magic: The Gathering's Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 was released June 20 of last year for Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and iOS. The third and final Deck Pack expansion for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 was issued January this year.
"The Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers franchise has been engaging and exciting gamers since we launched in 2009 and continues to be the best way for new players to learn how to play Magic," said Worth Wollpert, executive producer of Magic: The Gathering. "This year, with the addition of a fifth platform — Android — along with new features and a more focused integration between online and offline play, we continue to deliver a best-in-class gaming experience."
