Microsoft's Xbox 360 does not violate a wireless communication patent held by Motorola, a U.S. trade judge said in a notice posted to the International Trade Commission's website.
U.S. International Trade Commission administrative law judge David Shaw wrote that Microsoft's console does not infringe on patent 6,069,896, which relates to wireless network connections. In a series of patent disputes that dates back to 2010 and spans courts in the U.S. and Europe, Motorola alleged that certain Xbox 360 wireless accessories and controllers infringed upon its patent, among other claims.
Judge Shaw's findings will go before a six-member commission, Bloomberg reports, that can block imports that infringe U.S. patents.
