Banished alpha gameplay shows you how to start a town

Shining Rock Software, the one-man team behind city-building strategy game Banished, released a new video featuring alpha gameplay of how to construct a small town.

In Banished, players control a group of exiled travelers. The goal is to keep the population alive by creating sustainable living through sturdy homes, farming, trading, fishing and more. Townspeople can work as one of eighteen different professions and will have children, grow old and die.

The video, which you can watch above, shows how players can send units out to gather resources, farm and more while they build new structures. Players will also be able to clear or grow trees to create surrounding forests.

Banished is currently in development for Windows PC. The game is expected to launch this year.
