Rift to be shuttered in Korea

The Korean version of Trion Worlds' Rift is closing down as of April 25, announced the game's Korean publisher, CJ E&M, this week.

Citing "difficult maintenance decisions," the company said it will offer refunds to subscribers from April 17 onward, although the in-game shop will close March 28. Rift is played in Korea through the NetMarble online gaming portal.

The closure of the massively multiplayer online RPG will come almost one year to the day after it launched — Rift became available in Korea on April 24, 2012.
