Quantic Dream may be venturing into the multiplayer arena with its future games, according to a job listing for a lead online programmer spotted by Kotaku.
The developer of PlayStation 3 games Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls says it's looking for a "creative lead online programmer with a passion for online gaming in order to be with us for our future AAA projects." Quantic Dream says it's looking for an experienced programmer with a "strong understanding of the multiplayer genre."
The French developer's games have largely been single-player, story-driven experience, but that may change with the next generation of consoles.
Quantic Dream vice president Guillaume de Fondaumière said the studio is already working on a PlayStation 4 title, adding, "that whatever we're working on on PS4 is not going to resemble what we're doing on PS3."
"We're going to try and reinvent ourselves," Fondaumière told Eurogamer. The company offered a peek at its next-generation graphics technology at the unveiling of the PlayStation 4 in February.
In an interview with Polygon earlier this year, Quantic Dream designer David Cage said the developer's next project — whatever comes after Beyond: Two Souls — will be "something quite different."
The company's next game, Beyond: Two Souls, is slated for release on PS3 on Oct. 8.
