Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, developer Idea Factory's visual novel, is headed to Nintendo 3DS handhelds in the U.S., according to an announcement posted today on Aksys Games' website.
Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is a 3D port of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, which Aksys released in North America for PlayStation Portable in early 2012. The 3D game will use the 3DS camera in a photo booth feature that allows players to take a picture with game characters. It also includes six new stories that fill in gaps between major events.
Set during a time of Japanese imperial struggles, the game follows Chizuru as she travels to Kyoto to find her missing father. During her journey, she gathers companions, encounters samurai warriors and supernatural dangers and may even find love.
Aksys Games did not reveal a release date for the Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi.
