Dungeons & Dragons Online: Shadowfell Conspiracy launching Aug. 19

Turbine will release its upcoming Dungeons & Dragons Online expansion, Shadowfell Conspiracy, Aug. 19, the company announced via press release.

Shadowfell Conspiracy is the game's second expansion and will raise the level cap to 28. The expansion is set in the Forgotten Realms era and introduces new wilderness areas, monsters and dungeons. Additionally, players over level 15 will have access to new playable Iconic Heroes. Iconic Heroes allow players to jump in at level 15.

According to DDO's senior producer, Erik Boyer, the Iconic Classes system will be available immediately to those who pre-purchase the game. Pre-orders opened today and come in two different editions. The Standard Edition, $29.99, includes one character slot, 1,000 Turbine Points, special goggles and more. Pre-order bonuses include the Calico Tressym Creature Companion and Bladeforged Warrior Gold Cosmetic Costume.

The Collector's Edition, $49.99, includes the aforementioned pre-order bonuses as well as the Bladefored Warror Blue and Gold Cosmetic Costume and the Tawny Owlbear Creature Companion. Other bundle-specific bonuses include 2,000 Turbine Points and three character slots.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Shadowfell Conspiracy was announced in February of this year. The game's latest update, "Disciples of the Shadow," also went live today.
