Xbox One Day One Edition includes exclusive Achievement, commemorative controller

The first run of Xbox One consoles will be labeled as the Day One Edition and come with an exclusive Achievement and a commemorative controller, according to the Xbox website.

The package, which Microsoft says will be "available in limited quantities at select retailers while supplies last," includes an Xbox One console, Kinect sensor, specially labeled controller and an HDMI cable. The controller is marked with the phrase "Day One 2013" right in the middle, as you can see in the image above.

Project Spark will let you 'build whatever you want'

Microsoft Studios' world-building game, Project Spark, will let players build whatever they want and share it with others, according to game designer Claude Jerome.

Project Spark was announced yesterday at Microsoft's E3 press conference, where its developers showed how players can use the Kinect to issue voice commands and Microsoft's SmartGlass to create and build different types of terrain such as rivers, grasslands and mountains. Microsoft's Crimson Dragon an upcoming rail shooter seen as the spiritual successor to the Panzer Dragoon series — will feature both synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer modes, according to a Microsoft spokesperson.

Xbox One to receive timed exclusive Battlefield 4 map pack, Second Assault

Battlefield 4 on Xbox One will receive a timed exclusive downloadable map pack called Second Assault, Electronic Arts and Dice announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference.

The Battlefield 4 trailer shown during the conference featured footage of a level where the soldiers were gathering intel from a Chinese intelligence agency. The video consisted of uncut Battlefield 4 gameplay running at 60 frames per second.

Xbox One to launch this November for $499 in US, coming to 21 markets this year

The Xbox One console will be available this November in 21 markets for $499 in the U.S, €499 in Europe and £429 in the U.K., Microsoft announced during its E3 press briefing today.

New Halo game headed to Xbox One in 2014

A new Halo game is headed to Xbox One in 2014, Microsoft revealed at its E3 2013 press conference today.

Bonnie Ross, general manager of 343 Industries, took to the stage to reveal that the next installment will take "full advantage" of Microsoft's next-gen console, highlighting cloud features. For the first time in series history, she said, the next Halo game will run at 60 frames-per-second. Below by Capybara Games coming to Xbox One

Capybara Games will publish its new game Below exclusively for the Xbox One, Microsoft's Phil Spencer announced today during the company's E3 press conference.

The score will be composed by Jim Guthrie. Spencer called the top-down adventure a "creative take on roguelike gameplay" in a "mysterious world" filed with secrets. The trailer shown during the conference also included a link to the website whatliesbelow.com.

Twitch providing gameplay streaming for all Xbox One games

All Xbox One games can be livestreamed through Twitch, Microsoft's Marc Whitten announced during the company's E3 2013 press briefing.

Microsoft demoed the built-in feature with Rare's new Killer Instinct game being livestreamed via Twitch. According to Whitten, Xbox Live users on Xbox One will be able to "participate and impact the game" through Twitch.

Crimson Dragon announced for Xbox One

Crimson Dragon is headed to Xbox One, Microsoft announced during its E3 press conference today.


The game was originally announced as a Kinect game in 2011, when it was known as Project Draco. Yukio Futatsugi, the game's creator, is known best as the director of the first Panzer Dragoon games.

Dead Rising 3, the third installment in the open-world survival horror series, will launch exclusively on Xbox One this holiday, it was announced today during Microsoft's E3 press conference.

The game is set three days after a massive outbreak in the city of Los Perdidos and stars new protagonist Nick Ramos. Microsoft will be moving from Microsoft Points to real money on Xbox Live, it was announced today at the Microsoft E3 press conference.

Under Microsoft's current currency system, Xbox Live users have to spend real money to buy Microsoft Points, which are then used to buy games on the service. When the Xbox One launches, Microsoft will be ushering a new payment system where players spend real money to purchase games, bypassing Microsoft Points.

SmartGlass for Xbox One lets users track friend progress live

SmartGlass for Xbox One will allow users to view achievements, buy in-game items and view the progress of friends via a live timeline, Marc Whitten announced during the Xbox E3 2013 conference.

SmartGlass will work with Xbox Live to track leaderboards and more. Users will be able to browse through a live timeline that updates as friends progress and switch games. A system called SmartMatch will also enable users to queue up for multiplayer matches while playing a game. Project Spark game maker announced for Xbox One and Windows 8

Microsoft's Dave McCarthy announced the Project Spark game maker today, for use with Xbox One and Windows 8, during the company's E3 press conference.

Users will utilize the Kinect to issue voice commands and Microsoft's SmartGlass to create, building different types of terrain such as rivers, grasslands and mountains. Commands can also be issued for times of day and night. Users can add objects and build towns at will.

Quantum Break will allow you to create your own 'personalised TV show,' says Remedy Entertainment

Quantum Break, the upcoming title from Finland-based Remedy Entertainment, will introduce a new form of storytelling that allows the user to make decisions in game to create a "personalised TV show," it was revealed during today's Xbox event in Los Angeles.

According to the developer, the interplay between the user and their choices in-game "changes your entertainment experience into a new type of storytelling." The upcoming Xbox One release will tie-in with a regular television series that will be impacted by decisions made in the game.

Microsoft announced a new episodic series from developer Hidetaka "Swery65" Suehiro for the Xbox One today at its E3 press conference.

The game is titled D4, and while no additional details were given aside from a brief teaser video, it appears that the game may be related to the D series, which is a collection of horror puzzle adventure games first released in 1995 by WARP. The D series dealt with taboo subjects such as cannibalism and featured full-motion 3D CGI video from a first-person perspective.

Forza Motorsport 5 arriving with enhanced 'human' AI

Microsoft used its Xbox One press conference to talk about its enhanced 'drivatar' system, for Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One, in which the game creates a simulated version of the player to race against friends that "doesn't drive like AI, but like people".

Minecraft, Mojang's crafting heavy open-world game, will launch for Xbox One, Phil Harrison announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference.

A release date or a price were not announced for Minecraft Xbox One Edition. The game was released on the console's predecessor, the Xbox 360, in 2012.

Rare's Killer Instinct is coming to Xbox One as an exclusive, it was announced at Microsoft's E3 press conference today.

Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer teased last month that a "historic IP" from Rare might be make an appearance at E3. Sunset Overdrive is an open-world shooter for Xbox One from Insomniac

Sunset Overdrive is coming to Xbox One, it was announced during today's Xbox E3 press event in Los Angeles.

The shooter is in development from Insomniac Games and will be published by Microsoft Studios. This isn't the first time we've heard of the game, however. Earlier in February it was reported Insomniac Games submitted a trademark application for the upcoming game.

Correction: We misinterpreted a quote from Microsoft chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi during the Microsoft press conference; as it turns out, Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3 are not the first two games in the program.

An updated Xbox 360 console is available from today, Microsoft announced at its E3 2013 press conference today.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain coming to Xbox One

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is coming to Xbox One, it was revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference today.

A trailer shown at the conference opened with Snake and another character riding horses through a desert. Through conversation, it is revealed that Snake is headed to Afghanistan. Microsoft releases E3 2013 livestream schedule

In preparation for E3 2013, Microsoft released a schedule of events that can be livestreamed at home, beginning with media briefing "Xbox: A New Generation of Games Revealed."

Microsoft's main event, which kicks off its E3 announcements, will be live through a 90-minute global stream at 12:30 ET on June 10. Those at home can watch the briefing on Xbox Live and Xbox.com, or for anyone located in the US or Canada, on Spike TV. The event will also be available to watch on demand "later in the day."
