Borderlands 2 DLC Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep intro shown in new trailer

Gearbox has released a five minute video introducing the opening sequence to its new DLC campaign for Borderlands 2. [Note: There is a Borderlands 2 spoiler early in the trailer.]

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is the fourth DLC drop for the company's shoot-and-loot game, and the last as part of its Season Pass content. Instead of dropping the player into a new realm within Pandora, it creates a Dungeons & Dragons style world inside the imagination of diminutive character Tiny Tina, an unstable, youthful explosives nut.

She leads fellow characters on an adventure against classical fantasy enemies like dragons and orcs that both teases and pays homage to D&D role-playing's familiar iconography, while folding the genre into the Borderlands 2 visual palette. Tolkein-esque weapons and items are also included.

"We have guns that shoot exploding swords," said Gearbox software writer Anthony Burch."We've got these grenade modes that are reworked into being magic spells. There are these new grenades that wizards drop that are fire balls, magic missiles and lightning blots."

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep will be available from June 25 for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points, or as part of the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.
