Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and PES 2014 will be playable at Gamescom

You can expect Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and PES 2014 to be playable at this year's Gamescom, publisher Konami confirmed today.

Both games will be available on the showfloor, along with versions of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow available on Windows PC. Additional announcement regarding both titles are also expected from the publisher.

"Konami enters Gamescom at a very exciting time in its long history," said Martin Schneider, general manager for Konami Digital Entertainment.

"Following the successful relocation, we enter Gamescom with a trio of extremely strong titles - and a chance for visitors to Cologne to go hands-on with the all-new PES 2014, the absolutely breath-taking Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and the PC debut of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Ultimate Edition.

"Gamescom is an essential part of the European gaming calendar, and we look forward to showing our hand and unveiling key product details as we move towards launch."

The announcement makes no mention of Hideo Kokima's upcoming title Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. We've contacted Konami for comment regarding the game's status at this year's event. Phantom Pain was first revealed during this year's GDC. Konami later revealed the title was slated to come to Xbox One during the Microsoft E3 press conference in June.

Gamescom takes place in Cologne from Aug. 21 to Aug. 25.
