Aliens: Colonial Marines has received an expansion to its single player campaign in the form of a new DLC pack titled Stasis Interrupted, available today on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360.
The add-on completes the story of Hicks, a central figure in Colonial Marines who, in the films, appeared to have perished during the events bridging Aliens and Alien 3. Players control three different characters who are revived from stasis aboard the Legato, where they must survive an alien onslaught as they discover why they've been marooned in deep space.
"Waking up unexpectedly from hypersleep, Lisbeth and others must figure out why the spaceship they are on, the Legato, has been diverted to intercept the Sulaco leaving LV-426's orbit," the listing reads. "Fight your way through the alien infested spaceship, find out what Michael Weyland is after and discover what truly happened to Hicks."
The expansion will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10), but will be the final piece of content included in Aliens: Colonial Marines' Season Pass; anyone who purchased that will receive the content for free. We've reached out to Gearbox to find out when and if Stasis Interrupted will launch on the game's other platforms.
Aliens: Colonial Marines was released this past February for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC — a Wii U version was initially planned, but was ultimately canceled, likely due to the poor critical response garnered by the title. In April, Gearbox and Sega were named in a lawsuit claiming Aliens: Colonial Marines had been falsely advertised with mock-up press demonstrations at video game trade shows like E3 and PAX Prime.
