Pre-orders open for Virtuix Omni gaming treadmill

Virtuix's Omni video game treadmill is now available for pre-order, and you can snag your very own omnidirectional video game accessory starting at $499, according to the device's official website.

The Virtuix Omni Natural Motion Interface is expected to ship in March 2014. At $499, you'll get the platform, shoes, belt as well as the tracking hardware and software. At $1,019, you can grab the Duel Package, which includes two devices and three pairs of shoes, which our sister site The Verge, slipped on to test out during E3 2013.

Check out videos showing how NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is using the treadmill to take a tour of Mars and a Minecraft/Oculus Rift/Virtuix Omni mashup for more.
