X-wings go mobile in Lego Star Wars: Microfighters

Lego Star Wars: Microfighters, a mobile top-down shooter inspired by the Lego brick toy sets of the same name, is now available on iOS, according to a listing on the iTunes App Store.

The $1.29 app gives players control of the classic retinue of Star Wars flight vehicles: X-wings, TIE Fighters, Clone Tanks, Star Destroyers, Droid ATTs and the Millennium Falcon itself. The game comes with 18 levels featuring fully destructible Lego environments as well as 35 different enemy types and eight boss battles across four worlds β€” Endor, Geonosis, Hoth and Yavin.

Like all Lego games, players can collect studs throughout each level to purchase new items β€” in this case weapons, equipment and vehicles β€”and upgrades. The mobile title also features the classic Star Wars choice: join the light side or the dark side.

Lego Star Wars: Microfighters requires iOS 6.0 or higher to run and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The app listing noting that Microfighters is a "high memory usage App" and recommends players close down background apps or restarting their devices if they encounter any issues.
