A new software update for PlayStation 4 will be released "soon" that will address an issue with the system's rest mode, Sony Computer Entertainment said on Twitter tonight.
Version 2.01 of the PS4 system software is being released to fix last week's update that added a number of new features and renamed the console's low-power state standby mode to rest mode. Since version 2.00 hit on Oct. 28, users have experienced problems powering on the console after engaging rest mode.
Sony didn't announce a specific release timeframe for v2.01, but system updates have typically arrived within 24 hours of similar announcements.
Version 2.00 of the PS4's system software caused other issues related to connecting to and uploading to YouTube. Last week's "big alpha" for Turtle Rock's co-op shooter Evolve was delayed on PS4 due to issues related to the system's recent update, developers said.
