Director and producer Naoki Yoshida will give a talk at the 2014 Game Developers Conference detailing the design process behind Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix announced this morning.
Yoshida will discuss the massively multiplayer online role-playing game's development, from the botched launch of the original Final Fantasy 14 in 2010, to its negative reception and the decision to remake the game, to the successful release of A Realm Reborn on PlayStation 3 and Windows PC last August.
In his Design and Production track talk, "Behind the Realm Reborn," Yoshida will also cover key factors of the game's initial failure, how Square Enix determined the title's subscription model, as well as share new behind-the-scenes information on decisions made during the remade version's two year and nine month development cycle.
The panel will take place on Wednesday, March 19 at 3:30 p.m. in the Moscone Center's North Hall.
