Crews, the clan-like feature that allows players of multiplayer-enabled Rockstar Games titles to game together, now support as many as 1,000 individuals, Rockstar announced today.
The new Crew cap is more than three times the old limit of 300 people. The Rockstar Social Club debuted in spring 2008 alongside Grand Theft Auto 4, but Crews didn't arrive until the release of Max Payne 3 in May 2012. It's a feature that's integral to Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer mode in Grand Theft Auto 5.
To mark the increase in the Crew membership limit, Rockstar is holding the first Crew vs. Crew battle for GTA Online at 2 p.m. ET this Friday, Feb. 7. The matchup, which will include Rockstar-created and Rockstar Verified GTA Online jobs, will be broadcast live on Rockstar's Twitch and YouTube channels.
