Lego The Hobbit trailer shows the advantages of forming a fellowship

A trailer released today for Lego The Hobbit shows the heist-like cooperative gameplay the upcoming game will offer.

Veteran Lego developer TT Games' upcoming title is based on the first two-thirds of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Today's trailer shows the cast of elves, dwarves and humans reimagined as minifigures and teaming up to overcome Middle-earth's obstacles.

Lego The Hobbit is set for an April 8 release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, Mac and Windows PC. For more on the game, be sure to read Polygon's hands-on impressions, where we learned the advantages of dwarves sticking together.
