This will be the last weekend you can play any of the Resistance trilogy's online multiplayer. Sony is taking down all servers for the three games on Tuesday.
Insomniac Games, the studio that created the series, said via Twitter that Insomniac employees would be online playing the game and suggested that fans join them.
Asked by a fan why the servers were being turned off, Insomniac's Twitter feed replied that "there are a large variety of reasons why they have to shut down," and that "Sony makes that call though, not us. They maintain online."
The closure was announced back in late December and was originally scheduled for the end of March, but apparently got an 11-day stay of execution. On May 20 Gran Turismo 5's online features will be taken down. MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation, two games with no offline modes, were taken down on Jan. 28, effectively making them unplayable.
Resistance: Fall of Man was a launch title for the PlayStation 3 back in 2006. Resistance 2 launched in 2008 and Resistance 3 closed out the series in 2011.
