Retro shooter Futuridium EP Deluxe launches in July on PS4, PS Vita

Futuridium EP Deluxe, an aerial shooter with an old-school aesthetic, will be released in July on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, developer MixedBag announced today.

This release is an expanded update to the existing version of the game, Futuridium EP, which is available free on Linux, Mac and Windows, and for $1.99 on iOS. Leading the list of additions is the Deluxe mode, a new campaign with 50 levels across five zones. The campaign contains five bosses and five bonus areas as well. Each of the levels has three medals to obtain — for no deaths, for a minimum number of cubes chained and for finishing within a certain amount of time — making for a total of 150.

MixedBag is also implementing a new gameplay mechanic in Futuridium EP Deluxe. While the game still has no power-ups, the Deluxe edition does offer turbo for the player's starship. The game still contains the 13 levels that existed in the original Futuridium EP.

As MixedBag announced last month, Futuridium EP Deluxe will be a cross-buy title on PS4 and PS Vita. Leaderboards will also work across platforms, but according to studio co-founder Mauro Fanelli, the company isn't yet sure if save games will transfer from one system to the other.
