November is just around the corner, and the show that everyone is talking about is only weeks away from premiering.
Jessica Jones, Netflix's second original series in partnership with Marvel, is set to debut its entire season on Nov. 20, and although it's one of the later titles to join the streaming service next month, it's certainly the most anticipated.
The show follows titular character Jones as she deals with her own inner demons while trying to protect the various people of Hell's Kitchen from the evil forces brewing within New York City.
Following in the same steps as the critically acclaimed Daredevil — Netflix's other original series based on a Marvel character — Jessica Jones will take on a darker, more mature tone than other Marvel shows and films, appealing to an entirely new audience. Check out our review of the stellar first episode.
Despite the lengthy wait in November to watch the new show, there are dozens of other titles making their way to the streaming service that people can spend their evenings on in the meantime.
Parks and Recreation actor Aziz Ansari returns to the small screen with his new show, Master of None. It's poised to be one of the hit sitcoms of the fall season, and those who are fans of Ansari's distinct brand of comedy will immediately recognize the tone of the show.
It's the perfect counterpart to the comedian-turned-actor's latest novel, Modern Romance 2.0, if you're looking to pair it with something.
November is also a great month for documentary buffs, with some of the best titles from the most recent festival circuits finally making their way to Netflix.
One of the most notable titles is Best of Enemies, a documentary that explores the complex relationship between liberal Gore Vidal and conservative William F. Buckley Jr.
The documentary uses clips from a series of televised debates the two had in 1968 to propel the narrative forward, and I can honestly tell you, it's one of the most fascinating documentaries I've seen this year.
With so many new shows and films being added in November, there are quite a few leaving, too. Most of the exiting titles are horror films, which makes sense considering that Halloween marks the end of the month, but there are some great documentaries also leaving that you'll want to watch over the next few days.
