After the announcement of Triad Wars, United Front Games' apparent successor to Sleeping Dogs, we felt pretty sure we knew what we were getting: a multiplayer take on Sleeping Dogs' open-world hijinks. That is not what Triad Wars is. Not by a long shot.
In the video above, Griffin and myself explore the beta's Hong Kong — the same exact Hong Kong map as in the original Sleeping Dogs, mind you — and find a game riddled with free-to-play elements, oddly graphic executions and inadvertently hilarious glitches.
Triad Wars is currently in closed beta and will release later in 2015.
