The Grand Theft Auto games are just that, games — everyone should know that it's a bad idea to bring that virtual murder and mayhem into the real world. "Real GTA," a brief video from production house Corridor Digital, makes that clear with an incredible real-life version of Grand Theft Auto 5's Los Santos — which is, of course, a simulacrum of Los Angeles.
"Real GTA" heads to memorable Los Santos spots like Vespucci Beach (Venice Beach) and the Galileo Observatory (Griffith Observatory), with its protagonist partaking in classic GTA activities such as punching innocent bystanders, stealing people's rides and killing gang members. It's impressive to see just how well Corridor Digital was able to make "Real GTA" look like GTA 5, which is perhaps more of a testament to just how much the game's developers were able to make Los Santos look like L.A.
It's also unnerving to see something that looks like real-life murder from the detached third-person GTA perspective; in particular, consider the scenes in the Los Santos Storm Drain and the alley. Remember, kids, don't try this at home — but if you're interested in learning how it was done, check out Corridor Digital's behind-the-scenes video.
