Kanye West debuted footage of his first video game, Only One, which in the musician's own words is about his late mother "traveling through the gates of Heaven."
West showed off the game during a livestream that was primarily focused on two other artistic endeavors: his new album, The Life of Pablo, and the next season of his Yeezy fashion line.
Only One: The Game takes its title from West's single "Only One," which featured former Beatle (and Destiny songsmith) Paul McCartney. The song imagines a conversation between Kanye's daughter, North, and his mother, Donda West, who died of complications attributed to a plastic surgery operation in 2007. The game appears to feature Kanye's mother riding on a pegasus and joining other winged angels in heaven.
The hip hop producer and rapper didn't offer too many details on the game, other than to note it was "coming soon" and that making it was "hard."
West first revealed he was working on a video game last year during a radio interview.
"The idea is, it's my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light," he told WWPR-FM of New York last year.
