Microsoft’s Games With Gold lineup for October is a sports-heavy one, with two of the four games on offer being sports titles, the company announced today.
The highlight of the bunch is Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings, the re-release of the baseball game from indie studio Metalhead Software that debuted to critical acclaim on PlayStation in late 2014. That year, we gave it our Sports Game of the Year award, and this port offers additional content. Regularly priced at $19.99, Super Mega Baseball will be free on Xbox One all month long.
MX vs. ATV Reflex from Rainbow Studios is the other sports game in October. Originally released in 2009 and currently priced at $29.99, it will be available free from Oct. 16-31 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
On the non-sports side, Microsoft is offering I Am Alive (reg. $14.99), the survival game from Ubisoft Shanghai, for free on Xbox 360 and Xbox One during the first half of the month. Finally, The Escapists (reg. $19.99), the lighthearted prison escape game from Team17, will be available free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers from Oct. 16 through Nov. 15.
In the meantime, you can still get a few of the September games for free.
