The mundane, day-to-day events of Thor’s life with his roommate Darryl in Australia will be explored in another video, Disney confirmed today.
Last August, Marvel released a video that explained why Thor wasn’t part of the battle between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers in the Avengers-filled Captain America: Civil War. Although it was posted on Marvel’s Facebook and YouTube accounts, the video was also included as a bonus feature on the Civil War Blu-ray. Now, Darryl and Thor will return to their apartment in another addition of “Team Thor,” which will be available on the Doctor Strange Blu-ray and digital release.
In October, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi said in a Reddit AMA session the “Team Thor” video was partly his idea and he would love to continue doing the series with other Avengers characters. Since Doctor Strange is confirmed to appear in Thor: Ragnarok and the second “Team Thor” episode will appear on the Doctor Strange home video release, there’s a good chance that Benedict Cumberbatch’s sorcerer supreme will make an appearance.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any hint as to what the video will cover. In the Civil War version, Thor feels a little left out since no one has called him to help the Avengers during their time of need. It also features an appearance from Mark Ruffalo, who played the Hulk in the Avengers films. Ruffalo’s Hulk is also confirmed for Thor: Ragnarok, so the possibility of him making another appearance in the “Team Thor” series is pretty good.
Marvel hasn’t said whether or not the clip will be made available online ahead of time. Considering they did it last time, however, keep your eyes peeled.
The Doctor Strange Blu-ray will be released on Feb. 28. The digital version will be available to purchase two weeks earlier on Feb. 14.
