The second trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was revealed tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Trust us, you’re going to want to wait until the very end of this one.
Lead actor Chris Pratt was on the late night comedian’s show to debut the new trailer, which shouldn’t be too surprising considering Marvel has used Kimmel’s show to premiere trailers in the past. Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy all debuted on Kimmel’s show. Both ABC (the network Kimmel’s show is hosted on) and Marvel are owned by Disney, so it makes sense his show would be the go-to destination for trailers.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 picks up right after the events of the first movie, but there are a couple of new characters entering the picture. Mantis, Ego the Living Planet and, perhaps most importantly, Baby Groot will all make their debuts in the sequel.
Marvel released a teaser for the trailer — because that’s the world we live in now — on Monday. It featured Drax (Dave Bautista) slurping soup out of a bowl in the most disgusting manner and the rest of the Guardians essentially shaming him for it.
