The annual Game Developers Choice Awards and Independent Game Festival Awards will be held tonight at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and you can watch the two ceremonies broadcast back-to-back in the Twitch livestream above.
The award shows will kick off today at 6:30 p.m. PT and run for about two hours.
The Game Developers Choice Awards will be hosted by Double Fine Productions’ Tim Schafer. Ten awards, including best debut, best technology and, of course, game of the year, will be handed out of over the course of the GDC Awards.
Playdead’s Inside leads the GDC Awards pack with six nominations, including nods for best audio, design, narrative, innovation and visual art. Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch and Campo Santo’s Firewatch each received five nominations. The full list of GDC Awards nominee features other big, memorable games from 2016.
The GDC Awards will also recognize Ambassador Award winner Mark DeLoura, Pioneer Award winner Jordan Mechner and Lifetime Achievement Award winner Tim Sweeney.
The Independent Game Festival Awards will precede the GDC Awards, and the show will be hosted by developer Nina Freeman of Fullbright, the studio behind Tacoma. The IGF Awards ceremony will recognize last year’s best independent titles for excellence in audio, design, narrative and visuals, as well as games designed by students. Games competing for the IGF Awards’ grand prize include Inside, Hyper Light Drifter, Overcooked and Stardew Valley.
