Three classic characters are coming to Super Bomberman R for Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks, including Konami’s adorable mascot Pyramid Head. The Silent Hill resident will be joined by Castlevania’s Simon Belmont and the Gradius series’ Vic Viper as part of a free update rolling out soon, Konami said.
Konami also rolled out a big update for Super Bomberman R today, one that improves the Switch game’s frame rate and adds a number of new maps. Four new versus stages — White Cross, Lagoon, Max Speed and Power Zone — have been added to the game’s shop, but players will likely better appreciate a number of polishing tweaks that Konami has rolled out.
Some of those tweaks, according to Konami’s patch notes, include “slight adjustments” and improvements to the game’s controls; less lags in online battles; adjustments to AI opponents in multiplayer battle mode; and a reduction in challenge in beginner and normal difficulties.
Konami’s full patch notes for Super Bomberman R version 1.3 are available at the company’s official website. While we wait for them to drop, here’s a look at the new Bombermen coming to the game.
