Planet Coaster has been turned into the Tron-themed roller coaster ride of your dreams, complete with a synchronized soundtrack featuring lines from the original film.
Frontier Development’s theme park sim allows users to explore a single-player mode of course, where they can go into great detail with the care and feeding of their virtual amusement park. But it also features a creative mode, and the community that surrounds it is quite dedicated to their craft.
I talked a bit with Frontier’s team at this year’s PAX East, and as I understand it players often clip stock buildings into each other to create new shapes. YouTuber TommyT067 goes a big step further with a custom color palette that accurately recreates the look and feel of the classic 1982 film. The first-person experience also displays a great understanding of the kind of fan service a good amusement park ride should provide.
Incidentally, interest in Tron has been on the rise since Disney announced last month that a third movie is on the drawing board. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Suicide Squad star Jared Leto is being eyed for the main role
