World of Tanks is getting a soccer mode for the FIFA World Cup

In light of this year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Wargaming will introduce a new soccer mode into World of Tanks where players can go head to head in a soccer match between tanks, Polygon was told today.

The World Football Championship mode is available until July 13 and features a special tank designed for soccer gameplay, new achievements and new team-based gameplay.

The mode features 3v3 matches on a reworked, soccer field version of Himmelsdorf, and lasts seven minutes per match. Players should aim to score goals using their vehicles and shells.

Users who try the mode out over the next month will be awarded the Football Player 2014 medal for their performance.
