Have any of the besties ever heard of Adventure games?

Watching the game of the year debates on the podcasts I keep seeing everyone call The Walking Dead "Revolutionary" or say it is entirely unique. But it really just makes me wonder id they know what adventure games are. The Secret of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Day of The Tentacle, Full Throttle. All games that focus on storytelling in just a strong way as TWD. Can some of the besties sound off on if they knew that adventure games have existed for decades? And what the difference between TWD and the other legendary Adventure games is?
