Nvidia gimping performance advancements from AMD

One of the reasons I love PC gaming is because it gives you the sensation that you are free from 'tyranny' so to speak of console companies that likes to control a lot of things, often too much for our own good.

However, all is apparently not so well. Nvidia has been building not only proprietary hardware to negate the competition instead of open solution (G sync vs Free sync), but the biggest thing issue I have with them is about their shady practices that gimps performance advancements on competing platforms:

What do you guys think? I am sure if you have an Nvidia, you should be happy and it shouldn't matter to you. However, on the long run, I agree with the article, it is very bad for PC gaming.
