Will the digital download revolution kill the 'I'll buy it when the price goes down' way of thinking?

I was just thinking of picking up the new Killzone for PS4 as I fancy something new to play this weekend. My instant thought was "It's been out for a while now so I bet it'll be cheaper", but considering my chosen option for purchasing games these days is download I don't know if that is true any more.

Considering how the industry is moving towards DD over physical sales for obvious piracy and monetary reasons, do you think, in the future, we'll ever be able to get a cheap game?
