Pokémon X/Y Monthly Hype Thread - January '13

Howdy Polynauts, and Pokémon masters alike.

We're 9 months and change away from the release of Pokémon X, and Y so I figured we have would start a hype thread where you can gather to compare thoughts on the latest evolution of the series.

As threads generally are locked after a month I thought we could do a series of one "open thread" a month where you can get together and talk Pokemania to your hearts desire; along with a summary of what we know of course.

Nintendo announces Pokémon X and Y for the 3DS, coming October 2013

First of all, the big news! Pokémon X and Y is coming this October, and will feature three new starter Pokemon: Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin.

We know that the game will make use of the Nintendo's 3DS's features and will release in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan "around the same time," according to Satoru Iwata. We've also had confirmation that these titles don't constitute a reboot of the series either.
