Today is Tuesday, November 13th and we're here at Polynauts Central on Polygon. What is Polynauts Central? Well, it's your place for off-topic discussion and a brief update on the past day of events in the realm of Polygon -- Or your daily Polygon community thread!
I believe some of you will be experiencing some CoD:BlOps2 action today. Anyone planning to stream it?
- For comics, manga and anime and if want a nice organised place to talk about those, then head on over to Crisis on Infinite Polygons Vol. 2, Issue #3: Avengers Point One for Chaosbirdomaid's, Breadknight's, and zombie711 all-in-one thread.
- If you want to talk game related art - or even art in general but be sure to head over to the thread by Revolurt called The Polygon Gallery of Fine Arts and grab yourself some cheese, olives and a glass of wine.
- If you want to talk about any movies or television shows with fear of spoilers then go to PrinceLUDA21's Polynauts The Movie: Episode 8 - I am Bad, and That's Good thread.
1: "Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 review: masking fear" by Matt Leone
"Dangerous Hunts 2013 is the first game I've played that asks you to moisten your hands before starting.
Its tutorial says you need to hold the packed-in "Top Shot Fearmaster" gun a specific way or it won't work properly. Its box art highlights the Fearmaster on both the front and the back. And the contents sticker on the side of that box lists the Fearmaster first and the game second."
2: "Polygon wants to socialize with you" by Justin McElroy
"Hello friends, it's your old buddy Justin McElroy. Did you know that the Polygon experience extends beyond this humble web address? It's true! As we emerged from our cocoon last month, we spread our wings and found we had been transformed into beautiful, proud social butterflies.
But in this hyper-connected transmedia society it can be easy to lose your way. To that end, we've prepared this helpful guide to our different social offerings."
3: "Ubisoft: Rainbow 6: Patriots still in development, could be a next-gen title" by Brian Crecente
"Little has been said about the upcoming Rainbow 6: Patriots anti-terrorism shooter since word came that three of the top developers had left the team in March, but Ubisoft's CEO tells Polygon that the game is still in development and could be headed for a next-gen release.
"The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it's really looking good," Ubisoft chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot told Polygon. "So when it will come, it will surprise the industry."
4: "Quantum Conundrum added to PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection" by Alexa Ray Corriea
"Airtight Games' physics-based puzzle-platformer Quantum Conundrum is the latest title added to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection, the PlayStation Blog announced today.
The game, originally released this summer on Steam, XBLA and PSN, will be free for PS Plus members after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, Nov. 13."
5: "Sleeping Dogs costume pack adds Hitman, Deus Ex, Just Cause characters" by Samit Sarkar
"Sleeping Dogs players will be able to make protagonist Wei Shen look like Agent 47, Adam Jensen or Rico Rodriguez this Wednesday, when co-developers United Front Games and Square Enix London Studios release the game's Square Enix Character Pack.
The add-on, which costs $1.99 on PlayStation Network and Steam, and 160 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Marketplace, includes character skins from three of Square Enix's games: Agent 47 from the upcoming Hitman: Absolution, Adam Jensen from 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Rico Rodriguez from 2010's Just Cause 2."
FROM THE FORUMS
1: "Is being the first in the next generation really good?" by Thabass
"It seems as though that there is a trend of game and hardware manufacturers being the first out in the great console race and a lot of the times, the first one's out of the gates are some of the best consoles out there. There are some other's like the Dreamcast that don't share the same fate, but lets look at ones that did come out early and seemed to win in the end:"
2: "Halogon 4: Episode 1 (11/11) - A preview of things to come." by Shaun McIlroy
"Welcome folks to the first look at what we're going to be showing a lot more of later in the week - Halogon 4: Episode 1.
3: "Borderlands 2 on iMac (Early 2009)" by ottermann
"So, Aspyr is releasing Borderlands 2! Yay!
I used the Gameagent Mac Match to see if my iMac was compatible. The game says it needs a Geforce 8800. My iMac has the Geforce 9400M.
Gameagent says my iMac isn't compatible, but the game may still run with low quality settings.
Does anyone have any insight as to how good/bad it would run? (if it runs at all) A new iMac is in the future, but not for 6 months or so."
POLYNAUTS COMMENT OF THE DAY:
Try to make something that's easier to comprehend by most people, and something more simple. Focus on the composition instead of the contents. Like the one we have today, everybody knows Castlevania, main part of the picture is in the dead space between the the text and logo so nothing will get blocked and everything is visible, and the resolution is not screwed, nor is the picture all stretched out fat. And post more, they will have no choice but to pay attention to your headers when you post like sh!t tons of them.
Revolurt (3 Recommends)
Every day there will only be one comment from the previous thread. It's decided based upon the most recommends an individual receives for their comment; should two people have the same rating then both comments will be posted.
Okay, there we have another day's worth of Polynews. Remember to sound off in the comments below and share any awesome news you find today. As always check out the @Polygon feed on Twitter to keep up to date. There's also our own @Polynauts twitter feed for you to tweet us if you see something AMAZING that should be featured on tomorrows Polynauts Central.
