But platforms. I just read an interesting interview of Rockstar regarding GTA Online. The Rockstar interviewee coated GTA not as a game, but as a platform. Just like platforms, it will be build on it and will constantly evolve. Which is a drastic departure from mostly static nature of videogames (DLCs add content, but don't evolve with time). So with games like Destiny on the horizon, I believe big budget games no longer be confined to a game platform but instead be a virtual platform where the developer holds the keys instead of the traditional platform holders like Sony and Microsoft. They are creating an environment to deliver games and content straight at us instead of going through traditional platform holders.
