I Feel Like The Only Person In The World Who's Picked Up On This

I really do feel like I'm on some kind of island when it comes to noticing how eerily similar the PS4 and XB1 are. Black boxes that look a lot alike to the point the finish and patterns on them look the same. Promo shots of both are "console, controller, camera with 2 lenses".

But it only gets stranger:

They have the exact same DRM policies for all intents and purposes

Online play is now behind a pay-wall

Eerie similarities to the "always online" of the XB1 with cloud usage and computing

They also seem to be championing the "exclusive content" people lampoon MS for

All kept at bay by clever PR, some positive talk about their relationship with indies, and a lower price point.

"We allow used games"

While still strangely worded, Microsoft does as well. Yet that's not considered.

I feel like this has been tabloid'd so out of proportion in favor of Sony for some reason when both companies are doing almost the same exact thing with their consoles and their plans for the consoles. I can't be the only person to realize that, can I?

Also, please don't take this as any kind of "war" post. I don't mean it to be. I actually won't be buying either for a while. I really want all three of the consoles to be successful because they all have their merits, but I feel like a lot of people are buying way too into the words of "reporters" and their biases.
