Transfer PS+ games from PS3 or download/install directly toVita?

I recently purchased the AC3 Vita Bundle, but I'm still waiting for it to be delivered (hopefully today!). As a PS3 owner and a PS+ subscriber, I was excited to learn that I could simply download the free Vita games on my PS3 (without installing them) and then transfer them to my Vita when it eventually arrived. I downloaded all five free PS+ games to my PS3 last night hoping that it would save time when I finally got my Vita. However, after doing some brief research online, I noticed that there were a lot of complaints about extremely slow transfer speeds from the PS3 to the Vita. I also discovered that I won't be able to charge my Vita while the games are being transferred. On the other hand, I have also seen some complaints about slow download/install speeds when downloading directly from the Vita. What is the preferred way to get these game to my Vita? Should I just transfer them from my PS3 since I already spent the time downloading them or should I just redownload them directly to my Vita?
