Day One Sales Numbers?

Any idea of how the Wii U sold on day one?

I would have figured Nintendo would have been touting some huge sales numbers on how successful they first day/launch was to help create buzz, etc. Does that mean that sales weren't as brisk as anticipated or that they are waiting on their first week/month totals before making any kind of announcement?
