Superfrog HD coming to PS Vita and PlayStation 3

The remake of 20-year old Superfrog will make its way on to the PS Vita and PlayStation 3 as Superfrog HD, Sony announced on its blog recently. Team17 will overhaul Superfrog with new graphics for the Superfrog HD release. "We're extremely excited about bringing Superfrog HD to PS3 and PS Vita; it's the most requested game that our fans are always requesting to see make a return," said Debbie Bestwick, Team17's Managing Director. "Now, with the 20th anniversary of the original Superfrog and the recent re-release of our classic survival-horror Alien Breed, we feel the timing has never been better." Closure free for PlayStation Plus members this month, other discounts announced

Closure, Eyebrow Interactive's high-contrast puzzle platformer, is free this month for PlayStation Plus members amid more monthly deals beginning tomorrow, Feb. 12, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog. A former Independent Games Festival Winner, PlayStation 3's Closure normally costs $14.99. Other PlayStation Network deals for Plus members include Capybara Games' PS3 puzzler Critter Crunch for $1.40 (regularly $6.99), Team17's Cross Buy-compatible top-down shooter Alien Breed for $7.99 (regularly $9.99) and Different Tuna's papercraft-infused PS3 side scroller Derrick the Deathfin for $4.00 (regularly $7.99). Worms developer brings shooter Alien Breed to PS3 and Vita on Feb. 12

Worms franchise developer Team17 will release its top-down shooter Alien Breed for PlayStation 3 and Vita on Feb. 12, creative manager Kevin Carthew announced on the PlayStation Blog today. The game will be available through the PlayStation Store for $9.99, with PlayStation Plus members given a 20 percent launch-day discount. Alien Breed, an HD remake of the 1991 original, supports cross-platform play, allowing Vita and PS3 owners to play together and carry saves across devices. The game also features ad-hoc and online co-op multiplayer modes for Vita players and both local and online co-op on PS3.
