Worms franchise developer Team17 will release its top-down shooter Alien Breed for PlayStation 3 and Vita on Feb. 12, creative manager Kevin Carthew announced on the PlayStation Blog today. The game will be available through the PlayStation Store for $9.99, with PlayStation Plus members given a 20 percent launch-day discount. Alien Breed, an HD remake of the 1991 original, supports cross-platform play, allowing Vita and PS3 owners to play together and carry saves across devices. The game also features ad-hoc and online co-op multiplayer modes for Vita players and both local and online co-op on PS3.
