A video released today on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel takes viewers on a guided tour through Apocalypse, the fourth and final downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Check out the video above to fly over the DLC's four new multiplayer maps: a remake of Courtyard from Call of Duty: World at War called Dig, the snow-covered landscape of Frost, a remake of Stadium from Call of Duty: Black Ops called Takeoff and the failed, 70s-era utopian fantasy dwellings in Pod. You'll also see Origins, a new zombie mode set in WWI-era France whose most notable feature might be the three giant robots that rise out of the landscape. Activision and Treyarch announced the final Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC earlier this month. Apocalypse will arrive first on Xbox 360 Aug. 27...

Treyarch has released a video preview of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's final DLC pack Apocalypse, looking at the new maps and zombie campaign. Apocalypse adds four new multiplayer arenas. "Pod" takes place in the remnants of a failed utopian village, and players will fight from pod home to pod home in a sequential progression of close, medium and long-ranged combat. "Frost" is set in Amsterdam following a snowstorm, and the map is divided in two, with a bridge over a frozen river acting as the midpoint. Players can use boats as cover and run across the ice to cross to the other side. The other two maps draw various levels of inspiration from popular maps in previous Call of Duty titles. "Takeoff" is a new setting and look for the "Stadium" map, taking place on a rocket launching pad...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 developer Treyarch is teasing new content for the game with a new video called "Origins." The studio began teasing a reveal on its Twitter account yesterday, posting a Vine and a screenshot from the video above. The trailer includes silhouettes of four men and a brief clip of trench warfare that ends with a giant robot. Treyarch has released three downloadable expansions for Black Ops 2 — Revolution, Uprising and Vengeance — so this teaser is presumably related to the fourth and final add-on for the nine-month-old shooter. The tone of the video suggests that Origins may be related to content for Black Ops 2's Zombies mode.

Activision will launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's third map pack, Vengeance, in one week on Xbox 360, and the publisher released gameplay footage from the add-on today. After a brief clip featuring Black Ops 2 "Replacers" Peter Stormare and J.B. Smoove, the trailer jumps into footage of dudes shooting dudes in the face (and elsewhere) on the DLC pack's four new maps — Cove, Detour, Rush and Uplink — and dudes fending off zombies on the DLC's new Zombies mode experience, Buried. The video also includes a brief clip of the new Zombies weapon, the Ray Gun Mark II, in action. Vengeance will be available July 2 on Xbox Live, and later on PlayStation Network and Windows PC.

The third of four map packs for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is called Vengeance, and it will be released July 2 on Xbox Live Marketplace, publisher Activision announced today. The downloadable content will feature three new maps — Cove, Detour (screenshot above) and Rush — and a fourth, Uplink, that is a remake of the Summit map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. It also includes a new Zombies game type, Buried, that comes with a new weapon for the Zombies mode, the Ray Gun Mark II. There's no word yet on the price, or on the release date for other platforms. The game's first two DLC packs, Revolution and Uprising, each cost 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15) for players who don't own the Season Pass. All Call of Duty DLC packs are released on Xbox 360 first, and then launch about...
