Activision has released a trailer setting the stage for the Mob of the Dead DLC for Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The video introduces the quartet of gangsters — a mob boss, a hitman, a money launderer and a gambling cheat — interred on famous prison island Alcatraz, and the actors who play them. It also introduces the legions of hell that the four will have to battle in order to try and escape the island. Earlier this week, Treyarch released a behind-the-scenes video for Mob of the Dead discussing the Zombie map's development. Mob of the Dead hits Xbox Live on April 16.

Treyarch has released a new video shedding light on the development of the "Mob of the Dead" Zombies map for its upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2: Uprising DLC. Set during the Prohibition era, "Mob of the Dead" stars four gangsters incarcerated on San Francisco's infamous prison island Alcatraz who find themselves trapped in the middle of a zombie uprising and must complete objectives and side missions in order to escape. The video discusses how the development team sought character actors like Ray Liotta and Michael Madsen to bring life to the playable quartet. "Mob of the Dead" also introduces a new afterlife mode players enter after dying. While in the afterlife, players can interact with zombies and the environment in order to solve puzzles. Team Fariko Impact took the top spot in the first Call of Duty Championship eSports competition this weekend, earning themselves the winning prize of $400,000. The competition was hosted in Los Angeles April 5 through 7, and brought together 32 teams from across six continents to compete for cash. Team Fariko won out in the final round versus EnvyUs, another well-known team focused on Call of Duty, which took home the second place prize of $200,000. The eight teams that made it to the final round won between $25,000 and $400,000, for a total awarded prize pool of $1 million. Fariko Impact is part of the Fariko Gaming group, reportedly the largest organized eSports community for the Call of Duty series. A new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer featuring actor Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski) and his new mate J.B Smoove (We Bought a Zoo, The Dictator) calls in The Replacers so gamers can get sucked into the upcoming Uprising downloadable content and not worry about their day jobs. The DLC will include four new multiplayer maps Magma, Encore, Vertigo and Studio, and a new map for the game's zombie mode, Mob of the Dead. Starting this weekend, Xbox Live users can watch the Call of Duty championship finals from the Xbox 360 dashboard beginning at 6 p.m. EST this coming Sunday, Major Nelson announced. Also featured will be the world premiere and behind-the-scenes glimpse at the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising DLC map "Mob of the Dead" which is scheduled to become available starting April 16. The Xbox-presented Call of Duty Championship final pits the best teams head to head in a fight for their share of $1 million in prizes.

The second downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Uprising, hits Xbox 360 first on April 16, adding four new multiplayer maps and the Zombies adventure "Mob of the Dead." Black Ops 2 game design director David Vonderhaar calls Uprising "the most fan-centric DLC package we've ever created." Activision and developer Treyarch are partnering with broadcasting platform Twitch to integrate a new in-game streaming feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with Twitch's service, allowing players to broadcast games, webcam and audio feeds directly through Twitch without the need for additional streaming equipment, the companies announced today. The service is compatible with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC versions of Black Ops 2 and all streams can be viewed on Twitch through the Call of Duty Elite service on browsers, smartphones and tablets. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's upcoming Revolution DLC is the subject of a gameplay trailer and screenshots released today that show off the expansion's new weapon, maps and undead options. Check out the trailer above to see four multiplayer maps, the new zombie co-op map and the new Peacekeeper hybrid weapon in action. For an unobstructed view of the environments in Revolution, check out the gallery below. You can also read our hands-on impressions of the zombies and war-torn skate park in the upcoming DLC.
