Despite being one of the top-selling PlayStation Network games last month, sales of Darkstalkers Resurrection were not enough for the game to be considered successful, according to Capcom U.S. senior vice president Christian Svensson. Responding to fan questions in a forum post on Capcom-Unity, Svensson said the fighting game compilation was not high enough on that most-played list, although it was the seventh-highest. Svensson wrote that Capcom is currently "working on promotions" and other plans to "improve the situation," although he considers Darkstalkers Resurrection to be the best executed of Capcom's fighting game digital re-releases. Darkstalkers Resurrection will receive an update on April 12, according to a post by producer Tomoaki Ayano on the Capcom Unity blog. The patch will include bug fixes, such as "replay upload issues," and will integrate requested fight features to the arcade and training modes. After a launch delay for quality assurance reasons, Darkstalkers Resurrection launched on the PlayStation Network ($14.99) and Xbox Live Arcade (1200 Microsoft Points) on March 12 and March 13, respectively. The compilation features 1995's The Night Warrior: Darkstalkers' Revenge and Darkstalkers 3, originally released in 1997.

Capcom may consider doing a sequel for fighting game Darkstalkers Resurrection and do conversions of Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire and Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge if the new title's sales and fan voices are strong, producer Tomoaki Ayano told Game Watch Japan. Hunter 2 and Vampire 2 were originally released for Japanese arcades in 1997 as simultaneous updates to Darkstalkers 3. The first game in the series, Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, was released in 1994 for Japanese arcades. Darkstalkers Resurrection will launch on the PlayStation Network ($14.99) and Xbox Live Arcade (1200 Microsoft Points) on March 12 and March 13, respectively. Capcom will be making announcements for two new games during their World of Capcom panel on the Friday of PAX East in Boston. The panel, which kicks off at noon on the first day of the show, will be moderated by Francis Mao and feature a panel of not-yet-named Capcom producers and product managers. The panel is set to discuss the latest details on "all of the upcoming Capcom games" including the recently dated Remember Me, Lost Planet 3, Resident Evil: Revelations, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and those two new games, according to the company. After an initial launch delay, Darkstalkers Resurrection will hit PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on March 12 and March 13, respectively, Capcom revealed today. Its latest launch dates come ever-so-slightly earlier than its previously announced date for its delayed release. The upcoming title was first planned for release on Feb. 7 of this year; however, it was revealed late last year the game would be pushed back to a March release window, with aims to launch the title March 14, 2013. Darkstalkers Resurrection is being delayed by a month, releasing in March 2013 instead of the originally planned February 2013, Capcom announced today. Siliconera says that the reason given for the delay is in order to faithfully reproduce the original arcade Darkstalker games and ensure that online play is functional, more time is needed for the studio to work on the bundle, which contains The Night Warrior: Darkstalker's Revenge and Darkstalkers 3. Darkstalkers Resurrection was originally planned for Feb. 7, 2013. It will now be released on March 14, 2013.

Darkstalkers Resurrection, a PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade collection announced in October, will get a new tournament and online tournament mode, according to an update from Capcom-Unity blog. The online mode will work with up to eight players, with matches set for sudden death, one game takes all, best of two, or best of three. Resurrection will also include the usual Ranked and Player Matches. As previously revealed, players will also be able to upload their replays to YouTube. The post did not explain the process, although it did say users will be able to upload videos "with ease." Vampire Resurrection, also known as Darkstalkers Resurrection throughout North America, is coming to Japan according to a recent Twipple post by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono. Capcom Japan also launched an official Japanese site for the title. The first announced earlier this month during this year's New York Comic-Con that Darkstalkers Resurrection was scheduled to release next year on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. The title collects Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3 into a single package, and features 18 characters from the titles as well as online play with eight-person lobbies.
