Deadpool, the upcoming action title starring Marvel's mercenary anti-hero, is listed for Wii U under retailer Amazon Canada.
Deadpool is currently being developed by High Moon Studios for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. According to its Wii U listing on Amazon, the game has been given an M rating by the ESRB, though the ESRB website itself only includes the previously announced platforms. No other details are given about the game. We have contacted publisher Activision for comment and will update accordingly.
Deadpool is currently slated for release June 25 and is available for pre-order now. Read our interview with senior creative director Dave Cravens about how the studio managed the Merc with a Mouth here.
Marvel's anti-hero, Deadpool, could have made for an irritating video game protagonist, but developer High Moon Studios avoided this by "committing fully to the character," according senior creative director Dave Cravens.
In an interview with Polygon, Cravens said the character could have potentially come across as irritating because of all his unique traits: he breaks the fourth wall and talks to the player, he hears voices and has conversations with them, he's crude and indulges in fart jokes and, as his nickname "The Merc with a Mouth" suggests, he never stops talking. But by embracing Deadpool's unapologetic nature, Cravens believes High Moon's Deadpool game does the character justice in the way Marvel's comics intended.
"I think it's a matter of if you're going to jump into the...

Apparent listings cultivated from Steam's Content Description Record database show a handful of unannounced titles and PC ports bound for Steam, including versions of Mortal Kombat, Skulls of the Shogun and Pinball FX 2.
While the Steam CDR database manages to keep titles of unannounced titles well-hidden (with names like "ValveTestApp217140"), achievement data and images scraped from Steam and SteamDB — unearthed by a handful of NeoGAF forum members — reveals content for certain Steam games not currently listed for Valve's platform: Deadpool, Mortal Kombat, and Skulls of the Shogun.
Other listings point to more speculative but surprising releases, including possible listings for The King of Fighters XIII, Castle of Illusion and Strider. Art for a rumored Strider game was d...
The latest trailer for High Moon Studios' Deadpool: The Game, courtesy of IGN, shows a title packed with plenty of raunchy, juvenile jokes with just enough explosive action to balance it all out.
Narrated by the Merc with the Mouth himself, the video posted above shows some of the first in-game clips from High Moon's title. After Deadpool introduces the trailer, the scene switches to shots of crumbling ruins and a mysterious woman bathed in light. From a distance she somewhat resembles Death, a character already confirmed for the title who will reportedly send Deadpool on missions, or Domino, a sharp-shooting member of the X-Men that will also appear in the game. The trailer also introduces Cable, Deadpool's once-partner and X-Men member, and features several gratuitous shots of the...
Two more characters from the Deadpool universe will be joining the Merc with a Mouth in High Moon's upcoming Deadpool game, according to a post on Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld's personal website citing the February issue of Official Xbox Magazine.
According to Liefeld, telepathic X-Man Cable will be featured in the game. Deadpool and Cable starred alongside each other in the Cable & Deadpool comic book series that ran from 2004 to 2008. In the series, Cable tries to use his mutant telekenetic powers to better the world while Deadpool, being hired out for miscellaneous jobs which sometimes put him in Cable's path, both helps and hinders him in various humorous ways.
The game will also include a re-imagined version of the entity Death in female form, whom Deadpool is fascinated with....
