How to fight enemies in Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition mixes real-time character combat with a more tactical approach in which players can make use of their party's strategic strengths. This new trailer from developer BioWare shows how the role-playing game's fighting systems work. The game, in which an Inquisitor battles through a fantasy realm, allows players to pile into combat situations while relying on party members to help out, using their particular powers, be they melee, magic or range weapons. Alternatively, the player can freeze the action and control a camera in order to weigh up the enemy, while individually directing party-members. Tactics can be changed at any time. Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released on Nov. 18.

Hands on with Dragon Age: Inquisition: The importance of dying

He guides us through the brush, past the camp, along a wooded path. As we walk around a bend, the canopy of trees suddenly part, revealing slate grey skies. The narrow path opens to become a valley of jutting rock and the occasional copse of trees. In the distance a stream; in the stream, a small creature. "Is that it?" No that's a hatchling, he says. That's it. Suddenly the sky darkens, a massive shadow passes overhead, I look up and see an enormous creature, a high dragon, soaring past. I'm not worried, playing Dragon Age: Inquisition with one of the game's creators, using characters loaded up with abilities, weapons and an endless cache of power means that the most blundering of adventures should be able to finish off massive dragons. The creature spews flames at us, snaps at...

Meet BioWare's first 'fully gay' male party member in Dragon Age: Inquisition

The Dragon Age series is getting its first exclusively gay male character, which will also be the first fully gay male party member for BioWare as a whole, series writer David Gaider revealed in a post on the official Dragon Age Inquisition website. As confirmed on the game's Facebook page, Dorian — who is described as a powerful elemental mage — will be a love interest for male Inquisitors. "Dorian is gay — he is, in fact, the first fully gay character I've had the opportunity to write," wrote Gaider. "I suppose this aspect of Dorian will make him controversial in some corners, but I was glad to include it. It made writing Dorian a very personal experience for me," he added, referring to his own sexuality, "and I'm hopeful that will make him seem like a fully realised character to...
