Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan review: our retired explorer

Legends of the Titan has no intention of telling a great story. You lead a guild of untested explorers in the city of Tharsis seeking a way to fortune and fame. Your end goal is Yggdrasil, a legendary tree that is said to lead people to paradise. The Count of Tharsis has issued a challenge to all free and able bodies: Find Yggrasil and learn the truth behind its existence. Besides setting up that premise, the plot exists only to feed basic information to would-be adventurers. At the journey's outset, you create a party of five characters out of seven available class choices (with three more unlocking later). The classes fill basic damage, buffing and healing roles, though under new names — the landsknecht is a warrior, the sniper is an archer, the runemaster is a mage, etc. L...

Atlus 3DS eShop sale discounts Etrian Odyssey 4, Code of Princess and Soul Hackers

Atlus is currently offering a $10 discount on three Nintendo 3DS titles — Code of Princess, Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Soul Hackers — through Nintendo's eShop as part of a 13-day summertime sale. The temporary markdown is available until Aug. 31 in North America, dropping the prices of those 3DS games as follows. Code of Princess - $19.99 Etrian Odyssey 4 - $29.99 Soul Hackers - $29.99 Based on our reviews of the three titles, Etrian Odyssey 4 and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Soul Hackers are probably worth your time and (less) money, but we can't say the same for Code of Princess.

Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan coming to Europe Aug. 30

European 3DS owners can expect the arrival of Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan to arrive in retail and on the Nintendo eShop on Aug. 30 following an initial delay. The game was first slated for a spring release this year before having its European launch date pushed back to a summer release window. Prior to its release next month, a demo of the game will become available offering a sample of two of the game's dungeons. Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan for 3DS European release delayed to summer

Role-playing game Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan will release on the Nintendo 3DS in Europe this summer instead of spring as originally announced, according to distributor Atlus and NIS America. The game was originally slated for a spring 2013 release in Europe. Etrian Odyssey 4 will be available through European retailers as well as the Nintendo eShop, and a demo of the game, which includes two dungeons, will be available on the eShop in early summer in the lead-up to the release. Etrian Odyssey 4 demo coming Feb. 7

A demo for Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan, the upcoming Nintendo 3DS RPG from Atlus, will be available on the 3DS eShop Feb. 7, the company announced today. The demo will give players a chance to explore the beginning of the game: introduction, first mini-dungeon, first skyship area and parts of the first main dungeon. Players won't have to deal with any content restrictions — whatever is present in that section of the full game will be available in the demo. In fact, all progress made within the demo will carry over to the full version of the game. Etrian Odyssey 4 launches Feb. 26 on 3DS, at retail and on the eShop, for $39.99. Those who buy the physical version will receive a CD and limited-edition art book.

Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan trailer outlines 'Fortress' class

A new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan, Atlus' role-playing dungeon crawler, provides players with a glimpse at the Fortress class, characters with high defense and shielding capabilities. Although the trailer is brief, it reveals that Fortress characters can increase their defense against attacks, shield teammates from harm and deal heavy blows with maces. Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan will release in North America on Feb. 26 for Nintendo 3DS. Check out the trailer above.

Etrian Odyssey 4 comes to Nintendo 3DS in February, includes bonus art and music collection

Atlus' challenging old-school role-playing game Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan will be released in North America on Feb. 26, 2013, according to the publisher. The game will be released for Nintendo 3DS both at traditional retail and digitally through Nintendo's eShop, but players may want to opt for the physical version which comes with additional items. Included in launch copies of Etrian Odyssey 4 will be a free full-color art book featuring game art and exclusive illustrations from artist Alexandra Douglass. Also included is the "Rough Drafts & Outtakes" CD featuring music from legendary composer Yuzo Koshiro.
