Fan-made live-action Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon 'movie trailer' looks just like the real thing

YouTube filmmaker Mike Diva has released a live-action short imagining what a film version of Ubisoft's retro-futuristic pastiche Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon might look like. In the near future, "cyber shit" runs rampant in the streets and the only man who can clean it up is Detective Rex "Power" Colt. With the help of his sassy ethnic sidekick Spider, Rex Colt takes on the evil Colonel Sloan, who seeks to wipe Mark IV cyber-commandos out. The trailer is drenched in the neon, VHS-tracking-error 80s aesthetic of Blood Dragon, and Rex Colt rides a flying cyber-shark with a laser on its head. You can check out Polygon's review of the actual Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon here.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon walkthrough features laser-shooting cyber-dragons

Ubisoft has released a gameplay video for its upcoming Far Cry 3 standalone expansion Blood Dragon showing the game in action. Blood Dragon operates under the same free-roaming open world philosophy of Far Cry 3, except the soldiers piling out of Jeeps to kill you are evil cyborgs rather than pirates and bandits. In the video here, Sgt. Rex "Power" Colt must liberate an enemy base, which he does by unleashing a dragon. To be precise, he unleashes a cyber-dragon that downs helicopters by shooting lasers from its head. The walkthrough also shows off some of the weaponry Sgt. Rex has at his disposal, like a bow and arrow, a laser rifle, or a four-barreled shotgun that sets things on fire. In gunfights on a grassland, the fire spreads, further harming enemies. Ubisoft also announced that...

Adam Jensen and Vaas voice actors duke it out during Canadian Videogame Awards interview

Michael Mando and Elias Toufexis, the voices of Far Cry 3's Vaas and Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Adam Jensen, respectively, recently did an interview sketch together with hilarious results. Mando posted the sketch, titled "The Worst Interview of my Career" on YouTube. The video was part of a spoof for the Canadian Videogame Awards 2013, which Toufexis hosted. What begins as a casual interview about acting in interviews quickly spirals into a verbal and eventually physical fight. Check out the video above to see who ends up on top. The Canadian Videogame Awards took place Vancouver, B.C. on April 20. Far Cry 3 won six awards, including Game of the Year, while Mass Effect 3 picked up three. Mark of the Ninja, Assassin's Creed 3 and Sound Shapes followed behind with two awards each.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon leaked gameplay footage is a retina burning laser show

Fifteen minutes of leaked gameplay footage of Ubisoft's neon first-person shooter Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, posted by YouTube user DiscoNachoPiggy, showcases retro-futuristic buildings, lasers and self aware humor. According to DiscoNachoPiggy, the original uploader was MrCultux who later removed the video from their account. Tutorial screens flash up control instructions for grenades and a self healing mechanic with nano-meds by pressing Y. Players can also level up their character to become "a bigger, badder cyber-commando" by earning cyber-points through killing bad guys, finishing objectives and stealing objects. The footage was obtained when an exploit allowed users to download the game ahead of its May 1 release date. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was recently revealed via an Xbox...

Ubisoft teases Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

It may be April Fools' Day, but Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon appears to be a real extension of Far Cry 3 on the way from Ubisoft, if the teaser trailer above is to be believed. The trailer is pitched as a VHS tape while the video itself features an '80s sci-fi aesthetic, and a wacky '80s teaser site pitches Blood Dragon as a fake Far Cry movie from that era. "The year is 2007. It is the future," reads the film's tagline; according to the synopsis that appears on the site, it tells the story of cyborg soldier Sgt. Rex Power Colt, a "Mark IV Cyber Commando" who has been sent to retrieve a bioweapon from a tropical island after a nuclear war destroys civilization as we know it. Although the teaser site suggests Blood Dragon is merely an April Fools' joke, it seems to be a real thing. Word of B...
