Final Fantasy 5 launches on iOS in North America

After releasing yesterday in New Zealand, Final Fantasy 5 is now available on iOS devices throughout North America, Square Enix announced. This new mobile version eatures additional in-game jobs including Gladiator, Cannoneer, Oracle and Necromancer. An optional boss designed by Tetsuya Nomura is also included. The IOS title also includes Game Center support, achievements, and touch-screen controls for its combat system. Final Fantasy 5 is available for $15.99 on the iTunes Store.


Final Fantasy 5 launches on iOS in New Zealand

Final Fantasy 5 has arrived on the New Zealand iOS App Store, likely indicating that it will launch in North America tomorrow. The universal app carries a price tag of $19.99 NZ on the New Zealand App Store, which is the same price as Final Fantasy 4 launched at in the region — in North America, FF4 costs $15.99, which is as good a guess as any for FF5's local price. The game includes GameCenter support, achievements and the "Sealed Temple" dungeon that was included in Final Fantasy 5 Advance, which launched on Game Boy Advance in 2006. Select Final Fantasy titles 50 percent off starting tomorrow on PSN

In honor of Final Fantasy's 25th anniversary, several titles in the series will be available at half price on PlayStation Network, according to the PlayStation Blog. The sale will last two weeks and includes PlayStation Portable and PSOne classics. Final Fantasy 5 coming to iOS

Final Fantasy 5 is coming to iOS devices, Square Enix announced at the end of the launch trailer for the mobile port of Final Fantasy 4. No release date is currently offered; However, the trailer promises more Final Fantasy titles to follow. We have contacted Square Enix for comment regarding a North American release and will update the post when more information is available. The 3D remake of Final Fantasy 4 hit iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices on Dec. 20. The game was first announced as one of the five new titles that will be made available on the App Store by Square Enix in early December. The game can be downloaded here.
